The Premier Choir is our most advanced choir for girls in grades 9 through 12. Our Premier singers master a complex and rewarding treble choral repertoire spanning a wide range of musical styles, historical periods, and genres. The musical community that results from the rehearsing, performing, and traveling together is remarkably rich. Premier has toured internationally to Denmark, Italy, Australia, Canada, Scotland and England. Past performance venues include St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland, St. Mary?s Cathedral in Sydney, Australia, and Lester B. Pearson College in Victoria, BC, Canada. In July 2003, they traveled to Portugal and Spain, where they participated in the Cantonigros Festival.

Getting rave revues for performances and recordings, being invited to serve as a guest choir-in-residence, working with renowned composers, and mastering complex repertoire make being a Premier Choir chorister a marvelous experience. Special performances have included invitations to perform for two Northwest Division Conventions of the American Choral Directors Association, their selection to be the guest choir for internationally renowned composer Stephen Hatfield's 2000 Master Class at Western Oregon University, and an appearance at the 2001 Choral Music Institute for Choral Music Education in Vancouver, BC, as the U. S. Young Artists Choir.

"Girlchoir provides the connection to music that is so important to me." Rachel (Grade 11)
"I look forward to it all week." Laura (Grade 11)
"Girlchoir has instilled in me dedication, a hard working attitude, and commitment to excellence as part of the choral community of the future. Our Artistic Director, Roberta Jackson, reminds us before every concert to 'enjoy every note' and for 9 years I truly have." Bridget (Grade 12)
